Hi, I’m Jackie.

I’m a licensed therapist who believes that understanding where we are often means making room for where we have been.
My work is grounded in curiosity about the experiences, relationships, identities, cultures, and communities that become part of who we are. I work with adults and relationships navigating change, identity, connection, loss, health, belonging, and experiences that may continue to influence the present.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. You bring your knowledge of yourself, your experiences, and your life. I bring clinical knowledge, curiosity, and a willingness to sit with the parts of your story that may be complicated, painful, uncertain, or still unfolding.
What it’s like to work with me
I want therapy to be a place where you can bring the parts of yourself and your story that do not always fit neatly together.
You may want space to talk and make connections, or you may want more direction, tools, or opportunities to try something different. I adjust how we work based on what you need, while remaining active and engaged in the process with you.
I may invite you to notice patterns, explore what is happening beneath the surface, or consider how earlier experiences are showing up in the present. At other times, our work may focus on coping with what is happening right now, strengthening relationships, or finding ways to move through uncertainty and change.
You do not have to arrive knowing exactly what you need from therapy. We can figure that out together.
How I think about therapy
None of us develops in isolation.
The ways we understand ourselves are influenced by our relationships, families, cultures, communities, identities, and the experiences we have lived through. Some of those experiences are uniquely our own, while others may be connected to family histories, migration, adoption, cultural expectations, or experiences carried across generations.
In therapy, I am interested in understanding what is happening in your life now while also remaining curious about the larger context around it. This does not mean that everything needs to be traced back to the past. It means making room for the different pieces of your story and noticing which ones feel important to understand.
The goal is not to explain you but to understand you more fully.
My approach
I draw from different therapeutic approaches because different people, experiences, and moments in therapy call for different things.
My work is grounded in relational, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and experiential approaches. Depending on what brings you to therapy and what feels helpful, I may also draw from EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, parts work, somatic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and other evidence-informed practices.
Rather than fitting you into a particular model, I use these approaches to help us understand what you are experiencing and find ways of working that feel meaningful and useful to you.
Training & Credentials
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California, a Florida Out-of-State Telehealth Provider, and a National Certified Counselor.
My clinical training includes specialized work in trauma, relationships, attachment, and working with children and families. I have completed training in approaches including EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Child-Parent Relationship Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CAMS-care, and Psychological First Aid.
I am also a counselor educator and doctoral student in Counselor Education and Supervision. Teaching and supervising counselors in training keeps me engaged with research, clinical practice, and the ongoing process of learning and growing as a therapist.
You don’t have to know exactly where to begin.
If you’re wondering whether therapy might be helpful, we can start with a conversation. A free 15-minute consultation gives us a chance to talk briefly about what brings you here and whether working together feels like a good fit.
